In a world dominated by social media, you may be wondering where email marketing fits in - is email just ‘old hat’ these days or can it really make a difference to your business?

Email marketing actually remains an incredibly powerful tool for businesses.  Email is delivered directly to a subscribers’ Inbox rather than intruding on what they see as personal space in social media platforms such as Facebook.  Your audience has already expressed an interest in your product or service, and so is much more inclined to be willing to engage with your brand.

If you’re a small business with limited resources, you may think that it’s vital to spend hours each day updating your social media accounts.  BUT perhaps you need to think again.  Building a decent email marketing list might in fact be a far better tactic for long term business growth.

Check out our 5 reasons email will still be hot in 2015!

1.    Conversion

It is a fact that to this day, email remains one of the top convertors.  Conversion rates (as in actual, monetary sales) are higher for email than any other channel according to Wordtracker.  If you properly build and maintain your list it can be an incredibly powerful sales tool.  If you’re not doing email marketing right now, this alone should be enough to convince you.

2.    Retention

With email marketing you’re talking to an audience that has already expressed a desire to hear more from you and who has an interest in your brand!  A very targeted email list consisting of opted in subscribers means that you’re preaching to the converted – these people are already fans of your brand and much more likely to want to listen to what you have to say.  Use email to build and maintain these relationships and you’ll increase the lifetime value of that customer to your brand!

3.    Low Cost

Email is cheap as chips and provides a fabulous return on investment.  Available at a lower cost compared to many other mainstream marketing channels, there are no print or postage costs to consider.  The bottom line is that if you invest some time into understanding your audience to work out how best to engage with them, email makes your business money.

4.    Permission

Email converts better than other channels for precisely this reason.  They have opted in – given you their permission to receive that messaging.  If you make sure your emails are interesting and engaging then people will continue to be happy to receive them.

According to Exact Target, 70% say they always open emails from their favourite companies. Conversely, only 18% say they never open commercial emails.

5.    Easy to Work With!

A huge benefit of email is that it is highly trackable, allowing marketers to monitor exactly how their email campaigns are performing.  Email marketing software tools make it easy to segment lists, to create mobile friendly emails, to track performance and even to share.  There’s not even the need to be an online marketing genius.

So, if you’re not already sending out regular email communications to your list of subscribers, why not?  Want a little help list building and getting your email marketing off its feet?  Then give Emma at Curly Creative a call.

Emma has been absolutely brilliant, from the very first meeting she has gone above and beyond. Every stage has been clearly explained and completed before deadlines, she has been a pleasure to work with. I have no hesitation in using Emma again or recommending her to others.

Caroline Beacon
Owner, Stitched By You

Emma developed our logo, marketing leaflet and then our website. I am really thrilled with all three. Emma listens carefully to what you are wanting to achieve and asks some probing questions to properly understand the business vision. She then interprets this to design and deliver the outputs with wonderful effect. Emma is easy to get on with, provides good advice and is very conscientious (and patient!). I certainly would recommend Curly Creative.
